Here you can find answers to the most frequently asked questions in connection with the conference.

General information

What is USU World?

 

USU World is the user congress for customers and partners of Aspera GmbH, BIG Social Media GmbH, LeuTek GmbH and USU AG as well as other interested persons. The trade conference focuses on trends, tools, methods and best practices relating to the productivity drivers “knowledge” and “service.” The main spotlight is on the digital transformation in service. In addition to the keynote addresses, key topics will be dealt with in five parallel series of presentations.

When and where will USU World 2017 be held?

USU World will be held at KOSMOS Berlin, the largest movie theater of the former GDR, from Wednesday, May 10, 2017, through Thursday, May 11, 2017.

Are there directions how to get there and is parking space available?

 

KOSMOS is located in the center of Berlin and is easy to reach by car and public transport. KOSMOS has a car park with 200 lots. You can find more details at:

Can I use WLAN during the conference?

 

Yes, WiFi is available in KOSMOS. You only need a WiFi-capable device to use it. You obtain the access data from the reception.

Is there an event app with all information on the conference’s agenda?

 

Yes. The event app provides participants with all information on the conference’s agenda, the individual events, rooms and speakers. It can be downloaded as of April 2017. Among other things, you can use it to assemble your own individual program.

Is there an evening event at the conference?

 

Yes, keeping with the tradition, the USU Group invites you to a lively evening event on the Wednesday. Look forward to an interesting program and take the opportunity to get to know other experts better and discuss issues and ideas in a casual atmosphere. So that we can plan ahead, you need to register for it.

Where can I leave my coat or luggage?

You can leave your coat or luggage in safekeeping in the foyer.

Is there a dress code?

 

We recommend business casual for the conference and evening event.

Is there a shuttle service to the evening event?

 

After the evening event, there will be shuttle buses to take participants back to the hotels at which we have booked rooms for the event. More details are available at the service desk.

Are the materials for all talks available after the conference?

You can download the electronic conference documentation (slides from the talks, partner information and photos) from our homepage after the event. You will receive the access data for downloading them in a separate e-mail around 1 week after the event. Non-participants can also order the presentation materials for a price of 50 euros.

Registration, attendance fees, hotels

Do I have to register for USU World beforehand?

Yes, prior registration is necessary for organizational reasons. You can register by May 3, 2017 (participation only). There are also extended packages for participants, including hotel accommodation.

What are the attendance fees?

In order to attend USU World, you must pay an attendance fee. You can find more details in the Terms and Conditions of Participation:

The fee includes admission to the presentations and exhibition on both days, the conference documentation (available for download after the event in PDF format), participation in the evening event and all food and beverages. Extended participation packages include one or two overnight stays in selected hotels. Please note that the hotel packages can only be booked until February 15, 2017. Travel and other expenses are not included in the attendance fee.

Where do I obtain confirmation that I have registered?

After registering you receive an e-mail, provided you stated your personal e-mail address when you registered. This e-mail is confirmation of your registration. We ask you to click on the link in it to complete your registration. If you do not receive this e-mail, please check your spam filter. If you encounter problems, please send an e-mail to events(at)usu.de .

I can only take part on one day. Do I still have to pay the whole attendance fee?

In principle, we advise you to take part on both days of the conference so that you can network as much as possible and get the most specialist information out of the event. The fee stated in the Terms and Conditions of Participation is charged to all participants, regardless of how long they attend and what they eat and drink. Unfortunately, we cannot offer special terms for anyone wishing to attend for a shorter time. Apart from the costs of catering, the USU Group also has to pay the costs of renting the premises, technology, insurance and much more. The real costs per participant are therefore much higher, which means the attendance fees we charge only actually cover part of our outlays.

Are there special terms, for example if several people from the same company register?

Yes, we offer special terms. Employees from the same company as a person making a presentation, companies having three or more persons in attendance (applies only to registrations made at the same time using the online form) and members of the organizations itSMF Deutschland e.V. and Call Center Verband Deutschland e.V. receive discounts. Please note: Discounts may not be combined with each other. The highest-possible individual discount will apply only once in each case. Please indicate the applicable discounts for you when you complete the registration form. It is not possible to grant discounts subsequently.

I have already booked, but unfortunately cannot now take part. Can I cancel my participation?

 

Yes. However, cancellations must generally be received in writing (by e-mail to events(at)usu.de) and are only possible at no charge up to and including April 12, 2017. After this date, one half of the attendance fee(s) shall remain due and payable. If the person registered to participate does not attend or if a cancellation is made on May 8, 2017 or later, the entire attendance fee(s) shall still remain due and payable. However, we would be pleased to welcome a substitute participant at no extra charge.

Can participation be transferred to another person?

A substitute participant can be named at any time free of charge. Please let us know by sending us an e-mail. We need the full name, contact data and billing address of the substitute participant.

How and when do I receive the bill?

 

For organizational reasons, you receive the bill after the event. If changes are required, please let us know by sending an e-mail to events(at)usu.de. Please state the bill number and the desired change.

Do I have to pay attendance fees if I am a speaker?

No. We are delighted that you are enriching the event with your presentation. The attendance fee is waived for persons making a presentation and we pay the cost of overnight accommodation for them.

Are blocks of rooms reserved for participants at specific hotels?

 

Yes. We have booked blocks of rooms at hotels. We offer these as part of the participant packages, including accommodation but an separate booking is also possible. Sector-specific trade exhibition and sponsoring

Can I book an individual appointment?

Yes. Experts from the USU Group will be pleased to arrange a personal meeting and discussion during the event. Please use the registration form and state on it what you wish to discuss and when. We will then plan the meeting.
